Open Farm Days

September 25 and 26th, 2010 10 a.m. till 4:00 p.m.

The farm and shop will be open for National Alpaca Farm Days, and the Chatham Harvest Farm Tour. The Chatham Farm Tour will feature a number of Chatham Farms opening their barn doors for visitors. Alpacas, cattle, dairy, sheep and more. Email jeff@spruceridgefarm.com for more information, or check the ChathamKeepFarming.org website

On both days at Spruce Ridge Farm, we will have fiber arts demonstrations (spinning and weaving), several local vendors and you can visit the alpacas, pigs and cattle! A local Girl Scouts group will demonstrate their knitting (in our shop, we sell hats they knit for us from our yarn). Here's a little information about a couple of the vendors:

Davistudio, Spencertown, NY  www.davistudio.com
Mary Anne Davis creates unique porcelain dinnerware, sustainably and individually made in Columbia County.  Porcelain is made from a mix of organic grolleg, kaolin and flint.  The glazes are certified food safe and lead free and can go in to the dishwasher!

Twin Hearts Natural Bath & Body Products, East Chatham, NY www.twinheartsnatural.com
Ralston and Louise Rossi Edwards make a complete line of the finest quality, all natural, handmade bath and body products that will help cleanse, refresh and rejuvenate your body!  They are all vegan and cruelty-free and a wonderful all natural alternative to the harsh chemicals and detergents founds in most bath and body products today.  Louise and Ralston are also alpaca owners!
